Six Months...

The kitchen still isn't functional.  The laundry is multiplying by the hour.  I am trying to work out and eat better and we just got back from a week in South Carolina.  Somehow in all this hullabaloo, Brenna, you turned six months old.

SIX MONTHS OLD!  How in the name of all that is holy have you been here for half of a year?  What was our family before you arrived?

You have turned into a super happy, smiley baby.  You love to giggle and smile and make everyone around you do the same.  I swear you search out the room for whoever is not smiling and you make it your mission to brighten their day.

You have continued your love affair with your piggy toes.  You grab them, grab with them and gnaw on them all day long.  Your Mother's Day gift to me was to start rolling and now you roll several times in a row to get to where you want to be.
And almost always where you want to be is where ever your sister is.  Dad and I are positive that your first real word will be Addie.  Sure you say say some dadas, babas, and mamas now, but you are just babbling.

You have finally started to grasp the concept of solid food.  While on vacation you slurped down fresh South Carolina peaches happily, but spit banana back in Dad's face.  Last night you ate some peas - I wouldn't say you loved them, but you ate them.

You went to the beach for the first time last week, and I think you were mesmerized.  The lapping ocean scared you a bit, but you loved digging those toes in the wet sand.  You also loved meeting and seeing so much of your extended family.  With out a doubt you were a fabulous little traveler, letting us power through an 11 plus hour day of driving with minimal complaint.

Your six month check up confirmed what we already suspected - you are taking after mom's side of the family.  Your official stats are as follows:  Your height is 25.5 inches long/37th percentile.  Your weight is 14.8 pounds/18th percentile and your head is 17.5 inches around/94th percentile.  When I texted this update to Gramma Kathy and Dad, Gramma exclaimed that you were a "peanut"; Dad said that you were a "bobble head".  Either way, you're perfect to me.

P.S. I love that she has Gramma's stand-up, spikey hair! My namesake indeed!
